Arcteryx Academy – Mount Habrich ascent
Climb one of the iconic alpine summits in the Sea to Sky region, Mount Habrich. This is a great climb to get out and learn about moderate alpine scrambling and climbing with our ACMG certified Guides. The climb of Habrich includes a long approach, a lot of climbing up to 5.7 and complicated descents – participants must be prepared for a full and active day.
- This is a physically demanding day trip, requiring an excellent level of fitness. Previous outdoor climbing experience to a 5.8 level is required, and ability to belay and rappel.
- Mt Habrich is accessed through the Sea to Sky Gondola or via forestry roads to the top of the Gondola. The specific meeting time and location will be arranged prior to the climbing trip.
- The Guide for this climb will be listed soon, please check back. All Guides on the Arcteryx Climbing Academy Clinics are certified members in good standing of the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG).
Every participant should be prepared for a full day outdoors in any/all conditions. In addition, every participant is required to supply their own climbing harness, belay device w/locker, helmet and shoes as a minimum. For the Mt Habrich West Ridge clinic, you will require the same gear as the Rock Clinics, in addition to proper hiking shoes/boots and all gear and clothing suitable for a strenuous day of hiking and scrambling. You will not be travelling on snow or glacier, so gear for those conditions is not required.
If you need climbing shoes, or wish to try out some new models, there will be suppliers at the Trade Show adjacent to the Clinic registration area that will have climbing shoes available for demo purposes.
