$1,495.00

This region of alpine and sub-alpine ridges, meadows, and lakes provides an excellent 5-day wilderness traverse above the spectacular Lillooet River Valley. Join our lead Hiking Guide Dave Sarkany on this backpacking adventure exploring the beautifull regions above Pemberton. We will access the hike with a short helicopter lift out of Pemberton and up to tree-line on Day-1, saving many hours of gruelling and strenuous hiking. • Description

  • Located in the mountains just north of Pemberton, most of the route travels along the alpine ridge systems above the stunning Lillooet River Valley.

You will start the adventure with a meeting at the Pemberton Airport, as you prepare for the flight into the start of the traverse. After a pre-flight safety briefing, you will get dropped off by helicopter at the top of treeline, north of Pemberton. You will establish the first camp a short walk away from the helicopter drop-off. The afternoon of your first day will give you a chance to scramble up Mt Ronayne above camp.

The next few days the group will spend exploring and hiking along old historic mining trails, traveling over ridges and more peaks. Each day you will be welcomed by numerous deep blue lakes, all in the upper treeline or alpine zone.

Much of the route has established trails but there is some off-trail talus scrambling involved especially when going up peaks on side trips. Campsites are all in wilderness regions and will be selected based on the conditions and group objectives each day.

After 5 days of exploration and moving camps each day, you will get picked up by 4-wheel drive on a forestry road at the Tenquille Lake trailhead, and driven back down to the Pemberton Airport where your vehicles are parked.

    • Tenquille Lake Traverse Gear List

In addition to the general guidance provided by this Backpacking Gear List, there will be a detailed package of pre-trip planning materials sent out to each participant in advance of the trip with comprehensive advice on how to plan and pack for your wilderness traverse.

Trip planning will take place by email, a pre-trip Live Zoom session, and phone calls in advance, providing ample time and opportunity to ensure everyone is properly prepared.
