Here are some of the basic objectives of the day (in addition to seeking out the best skiing possible!):
Get yourself prepared to head out and see why the backcountry is the place to be this winter!
The Introduction to Backcountry Skiing sessions are typically held in the backcountry of either Mt Seymour, Whistler/Blackcomb, or Red Heather/Diamond Head region.
The terrain that we head into is suitable for intermediate or higher level of skiers or riders. We will not lead our participants into terrain that is above your comfort level, but expect to be in backcountry terrain that will have a variety of un-groomed snow conditions! We will also choose locations based on current avalanche, snow and weather conditions – safety is always our first priority!
This program is often arranged for Private groups as well and can also be held in the Duffy Lake area or other destinations.
Students are responsible for getting to and from the course areas.
