Bill and Then Dorjee Sherpa are heading up from C3 to C4 today. This is the highest camp on the Southeast Ridge route of Mt Everest at 7,950 meters. After this, the summit push will consist of 1 long day up and back from C4 in the south col.
Bill and Then Dorjee are doing very well at this point and feeling strong. The weather is cooperating, with forecasts showing that the jet stream will not be over Everest for at least a few more days – this means wind speeds will not be too high at the summit elevation.
John is planning on moving up from Camp 2 today to join Then Dorjee and Bill in C4 for the final summit push.
