  • Our Multi-Pitch Lead Climbing courses start at 0800 with a meeting of the climbing team and your guide. You will spend about 30 minutes going over course objectives, introductions, planning the day, and finishing paperwork, then you will head directly to the climbing site.

      Skills include:
    • review of all aspects of outdoor Lead Climbing techniques
    • route finding and safety
    • pitch belay considerations
    • rope systems and station management
    • anchor construction for multi-pitch stations
    • belaying and communication procedures
    • rappelling considerations for multi-pitch scenarios
    • fundementals of rope rescue for a multi-pitch situation
    • discussion and review of suggested multi-pitch climbs in the Squamish area

For the most effective use of your time, you will learn and practice these skills on shorter climbs by climbing classic single pitch climbs in multi-pitch style. This allows you to spend more time practicing anchor-building skills, belaying, and station management.

Throughout the course you will have ample opportunity to practice the skills you are learning. With our low instructor-to-student ratio, you will benefit from direct and instant feedback from your Instructor.
