Martin teaches our AST-1 and AST-2 programs as well as all the Wilderness Medical Consultants Wilderness First Aid programs. He has been practicing first aid for more than 30 years, initially as a life guard, then while working as as memebr of the Ski Patrol at Whistler Mountain, and currently as a paramedic with BC Ambulance. He is a member of Squamish Search and Rescue where he is part of the mountain rescue, swift water, high angle and helicopter long line rescue teams. He is also an avalanche instructor and spends much of the winter working as a Heliski Guide. Martin has also spent significant amounts of time in northern Canada providing first aid and safety services to industries working in remote areas.
