Learn to Rock climb outdoors at Esler Bluffs, near Williams Lake, BC! These 4-hour climbing clinics will get you rock climbing and having fun, while you learn all the skills for safe outdoor climbing. You will learn and practice skills including belaying, crag & site safety, movement technique, equipment selection & use, and more!

The Rock Climbing Clinics are presented by the Williams Lake Climbing Association. The Program cost includes:
- Instruction by ACMG (Association of Canadian Mountain Guides) trained and certified guides/instructors
- All group technical equipment required
- Use of harness, helmet, climbing shoes, and belay device for each participant (if needed)
- BBQ Lunch is included!

DESCRIPTION
These are Introduction to Outdoor Climbing clinics held at Esler Bluffs, close to Williams Lake, BC. Each 4 to 4.5-hour clinic is presented by the Williams Lake Climbing Association, with a morning session starting at 8 am; and, an afternoon session starting at 1 pm.Beginner climbers will appreciate the focused instruction and emphasis on learning safe climbing skills while on this outdoor rock climbing course. Canada West Mountain School has 30+ years of experience teaching rock climbing to beginners, so you can be assured that this course will give you all that you are looking for - and more!
An intensive session is spent on the rock learning and practicing climbing techniques, belay systems, rope management, and anchor principles. This will all be done while ensuring everyone gets as much actual climbing and hands-on practice as possible. These climbing sessions will prepare you for a lifetime of outdoor climbing!
PREREQUISITES & AGE
The Intro to Rock climbing clinic is open to anyone and everyone! As long as you can get to the climbing site, you can climb with us! The access is a short and easy walk to the base of the cliffs.Climbers that are 18 years old or younger are welcome but require a Parent/Guardian approval and signature. For youth under 16 years of age, we ask that they are accompanied by an adult while they are at the clinic (the adult does not need to be registered)
