  • The 2024 Intermediate/Advanced Rock Climbing Clinics are presented by the Williams Lake Climbing Association.

      COST INCLUDES:
    • Instruction by ACMG (Association of Canadian Mountain Guides) trained and certified guides/instructors
    • All group technical equipment required
    • Use of harness, helmet, climbing shoes, and belay device for each participant (if needed)

    HOW TO BOOK:
    Monday May 20 is an Intermediate/Advanced Climbing clinic for climbers looking to build their technical rope systems and movement skills.

    You are welcome to join for the Intro Clinic's on Saturday or Sunday as a refresher, but you will have to do a separate registration for each clinic.   • DESCRIPTION
    Monday May 20 is an advanced Climbing clinic for climbers looking to build their technical rope systems and movement skills, please register on this page by selecting the course date.

    Clinics will be held at Esler Bluffs, close to Williams Lake, BC. Each clinic is presented by the Williams Lake Climbing Association, with session starting at 8 am.

    INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED OUTDOOR CLIMBING:
    The Monday May 20 clinic is geared towards climbers who are already comfortable with belaying and climbing. The session will focus on improving climbing and movement techniques, learning and practicing technical rope systems for setting up top-rope climbs, building anchors, advanced belaying techniques, and tips/tricks for setting up efficient climbing systems.

    PREREQUISITES & AGE
    For the Intermediate/advanced clinic, participants should be comfortable belaying and have previous experience outdoor climbing.

    Climbers that are 18 years old or younger are welcome but require a Parent/Guardian approval and signature. For youth under 16 years of age, we ask that they are accompanied by an adult while they are at the clinic (the adult does not need to be registered)

    EQUIPMENT
    All technical climbing equipment will be supplied, including a harness, helmet, climbing shoes, and all other safety-related gear. If you have your own climbing gear or shoes already, we encourage you to bring them as well.

    The Introduction to Rock Climbing Clinics are organized and presented by the Williams Lake Climbing Association in partnership with the Williams Lake Community Forest, and conducted by Canada West Mountain School.

    Cancellations and Refunds The Climbing Clinics are offered at a reduced rate, with support from local community Sponsors; all bookings are final and no refunds are available in the event of a cancelation by participants.

    Participants may replace themselves if they are unable to attend, just contact CWMS in advance to let us know. If the event is cancelled by the organizers and/or Canada West Mountain School, full refunds will be issued.
